Poetry Marathon Part I — Haifa

  • Khashabeh Theatre Haifa (map)

Join us for the first of two nights in Haifa’s al-Khashabeh Theatre.

We’re thrilled to bring Saleem Haddad to Palestine for the first time where he’ll discuss his writing - including his critically acclaimed debut novel, Guapa, and his contribution to sci-fi anthology, Palestine +100.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances, Saleem Haddad has had to reschedule for PalFest 2024. The rest of the event will continue as plan

On stage will be the first session of our 2023 Poetry Marathon, curated by Asmaa Azaizeh, which will feature some of the most exciting poets working in Palestine today.

And to open the evening will be a rare screening of Sugarcoated Arsenic (2013), an exploration of African American intellectual, social, and political life at the University of Virginia during the 1970s - part of our first ever film program, curated by Basma Alsharif.

All PalFest events are free and open to the public

Read Basma Alsharif’s introduction to her film selection.

Books will be available for purchase on our Book Stand.
