Francesca Borri

A disciple of late jurist Antonio Cassese, after a short experience in the Balkans Francesca Borri (Italy 1980) worked in the Middle East, and especially in Israel and Palestine, as human rights adviser. In 2012 she turned to journalism to cover the battle for Aleppo, and since then, her dispatches from conflict zones have been translated into 24 languages. Six years on, she still lives in war, and in between one ceasefire and the next, she writes of Palestinians for Yedioth Ahronoth, Israel’s main newspaper.

Her latest books are:
Syrian Dust. Reporting from the Heart of the War, Seven Stories Press 2016.
Destination Paradise. Among the jihadists of the Maldives, Seven Stories Press 2018.
