Khawla Ibraheem is a Syrian/Palestinian theatre maker, born and raised in Majdal Shams - the occupied Golan Heights. Khawla started her career as a young actress at the age of 13, in Ouine Theatre led by the Syrian writer Motaz Abu Saleh and The Palestinian Actor and director Ehab Salamih. After graduating with honours from Haifa university with a degree in Theatre Studies, she started her career as an actress performing in A Parallel Timeline by Bashar Murkus, Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, The Publisher by Ameer Hlehel and more.
In 2017, after a few years of work as a professional actress, Ibraheem started her career as a writer and director at the Palestinian National Theatre, after her first project Soon to be Gone was awarded the Qattan Foundation Grant and AFAC Grant of Performance Art.
In 2019, she was part of the Sundance theatre lab residency as a writer and director where she met and worked with Oliver Butler. Later that year she won best directing and best script for her play London Jenin at the National Palestinian Festival. In 2020 after a writing residency at the MacDowell Colony, Ibraheem then joined the MacDowell family as a fellow artist.
Today, Ibraheem is considered a regular suspect in several theatres. She is most known for the Arabic production of the play The Father by Florian Zeller, which she directed.
