Rema Hammami

ريما حمامي هي عضو مؤسس لمعهد دراسات المرأة بجامعة بيرزيت حيث تعمل أستاذًة مشاركًة في علم الإنسان (الأنثروبولوجيا). تدور أعمالها المنشورة حول عدة مواضيع في السياق الفلسطيني بما في ذلك:مساحات الهيمنة والوكالة المجسدة ؛ الحركات الشعبية والتحول للمنظمات غير الحكومية ؛ السياسة الجندرية الخاصة ببناء الدولة الليبرالية والتدخلات الإنسانية الجديد. تعمل في تحرير Jerusalem Quarterly و Middle East Report و Development and Change و American Ethnologist و Polar: Studies in Political and Legal Anthropology. حصلت على منصب Carnegie Centennial Scholar في جامعة كولومبيا بالاضافة إلى مقعد الأمير كلاوس للإنصاف والتنمية بمعهد الدراسات الاجتماعية في لاهاي. كما عملت كعضو لجنة تحكيم في جائزة الأمير كلوز للثقافة والتنمية.هي أيضاً عضوة مؤسسة ومديرة مشاركة في Insaniyyat ، جمعية علماء الأنثروبولوجيا الفلسطينية ، وقامت بالتشارك مع جون بيرغر بترجمة قصيدة محمود درويش الملحمية: جدارية.

Rema Hammami is a founding member of the Institute of Women’s Studies at Birzeit University where she is Associate Professor of Anthropology. Her publications cover a range of themes in the Palestinian context including: spatialities of domination and embodied agency; popular movements and NGO-ization; the gender politics of liberal state-building and neo-humanitarian intervention. She serves on the editorial boards of the Jerusalem Quarterly, Middle East Report, Development and Change, American Ethnologist and Polar: Studies in Political and Legal Anthropology. She has been a Carnegie Centennial Scholar at Columbia University and held the Prince Claus Chair in Equity and Development at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague as well as served on the Jury of the Prince Claus Award for Culture and Development. A founding member and co-director of Insaniyyat, the society of Palestinian Anthropologists, she is co-translator with John Berger of Mahmoud Darwish’s epic poem: Jidariyya [Mural].
